Spotlight on Our Staff at Good Shepherd: Michelle Chappel

The Staff Care and Retention Team is shepherding an ongoing “spotlight” on staff members, that will appear in the worship booklet. Thanks to Sandy Drees for writing this piece about Michelle Chappel:

Michelle Chappel is our longest-serving employee (following Glenn Klumb’s retirement). She came to us in July of 2020. She is our half-time Campus Manager, and our “do all” and “go to” person. You can connect with her Monday - Friday mornings, until 12:30. Part of her job description is scheduling the use of our rooms and facilities for all church events and outside group meetings. But she also has many talents, like re-doing bulletin boards and helping to set up for events.

Did you know that she used to be a high school teacher of history? She did her undergraduate study and masters program at Emporia State University in Kansas. History is still her passion. She has also been involved with the Boy Scouts for ten years. She has been married for 20 years, with two teenage boys. I asked her to share some hidden talent, and she said “I can wiggle my ears!” If you have not met her, stop by the church during morning hours and meet her.
