The Journey to Baptism at Good Shepherd

Adults Considering Baptism

Some of you have asked about how you might explore being baptized as an adult. To engage in this journey of deepening your faith, we we have offered Lutheranism 101, a 4-class series, and Bible 101, a 3-week series that took place in November and December as well as a gathering of those preparing for baptism, in which we reflected on the sacrament of baptism.

Please let us know of your interest in baptism, by contacting Pastor Melissa Anderson Trust, melissa@gsolympia.org.

Considering Your Child’s Baptism

If you have a child that you would like to have baptized, or are a child who would like to be baptized, contact Pastor Bergen Eickhoff at bergen@gsolympia.org.

The first step will be to set up a time to talk and make a plan. We want to make sure the child’s parents or guardians support the baptism, and we want to make sure that the child understands the significance of baptism. Depending on the age of the child, this process could take a number of forms. So, if a child is interested in Baptism, start by reaching out to Pastor Bergen. And please contact Pastor Bergen about infant baptism as well.
