Our Congregation is committed to generously donating 10% of our annual general fund offerings to Charitable Organizations (including support for our Southwest Washington Synod). Sources of these benevolence funds comes from, in part, our local and World investment funds.

Each year, we invite congregational members to submit proposals and/or attend a meeting where we discern where our benevolence funds will be given. This year, we are making a change in our selection process. Prior to the zoom meeting, at which we discuss possible recipients, LCGS members and ministry teams are asked to submit a proposal for each organization to be considered. We will no longer simply work from a list of past recipient organizations. In addition, the organizations are to have a relationship with LCGS, our ministry and our mission. The change is to facilitate aligning our limited resources with our mission.

The proposals, at a minimum, should include the name of the organization; their Web link; a brief description of their mission; and their alignment/connection with Good Shepherd, ministries and mission.

Please send your proposals to: treasurer@gsolympia.org. Deadline for proposals is February 13, 2024. Plan to join the virtual meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
