Our Women’s Ministry here at The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd is guided by the mission and purpose statements of the Women of the ELCA.  The mission statement mobilizes women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ!  The purpose statement encourages us as a community of women who have been created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, to commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.

Women who belong to circles grow in their faith by participating in the yearly Bible study which is published in the Gather magazine.  Women also find direction for their faith journey by meeting every week over breakfast to study the Bible text that will be read the following Sunday.

Quilters are the hands of Christ as they fashion quilts for local high school seniors, children and adults who are being baptized, and those around the world who, through Lutheran World Relief, are given hope and love when they receive a quilt.

Those who knit and crochet create prayer shawls for members and friends who need the healing strength, comfort, and peace that comes with prayer.

All women are invited to share in fellowship, worship and learning at our Epiphany Brunch and Sisters in Christ Spring Tea.

Individual women attend other WELCA events around the Southwestern WA Synod, Region 1, and country including cluster events, conferences, retreats, conventions, and gatherings.
