Local Author Ned Hayes to Discuss The Eagle Tree at Good Shepherd

Save the Date for Our Book Swap Brunch

Good Shepherd’s Women’s Book Club invites everyone to Brunch on Saturday, June 24 beginning at 10:00 for a conversation with local author, Ned Hays. We’ll be discussing Ned’s bestselling book, The Eagle Tree.

Set in Olympia, “Tree” is told from the perspective of 14-year-old March Wong, a boy with autism and a passion for trees —one huge ponderosa pine in particular.

“The story is really a romance,” said Ned. “It’s a love affair between a boy and a tree. He loves this tree; he wants to support it. … That passion is something that we all share here living in the Northwest, and that is part of the reason that the story has resonated. People understand that romance with the natural world.”

If you would like to read the book before Ned’s conversation, The Eagle Tree is available at local bookstores, Amazon and on Audible.

The day also includes a book swap. So bring those books you read over the winter and swap them for a new one. Any remaining books will be used for our Little Free Library.

Save the date – June 24 – we hope to see you there!
