Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd sanctuary!
Tears of Joy Theatre’s Emily Alexander, a long-time children’s theater star in Portland, uses puppets to tell this fun, poignant story to children ages 3 – 9 (though this is fun for the whole family!). The show lasts about 45 minutes including a puppet meet and greet!
In a bilingual folktale from Venezuela (presented in both Spanish and English), our tiny heroine thinks she is much too fine to accept the proposal of a common mouse – as in love with her as he may be. Instead, she sets her sights on ‘worthier’ matches, like the sun, the wind, and the mountain. Yet her search for a perfect suitor brings her right back to the romantic little mouse who first proposed. Only now, La Ratonicita has learned to see her admirer’s true worth, not to mention the importance of being humble. This production features Venezuelan folk music, adorable puppets, and a costumed performer.
There is no charge for this performance.
